Holding an Exhibition in Gallery G or Studio G

Exhibition call for Gallery G and Studio G is open onca a year in March. The applications for 2028 must be submitted from 2nd to 31st of March 2026.

Exhibition spaces are open to be applied by all professional visual artists, the main focus of exhibition programme consisting of printmaking and drawing. Duration time for one exhibition is 3,5 weeks. Exhibitions are being curated by the Exhibition Committee, consisting of members of the Association of Finnish Printmakers.

Both Gallery G and Studio G spaces for the year 2028 can be applied in the exhibition call.

It is possible to apply:

Only the space of Gallery G
Only the space of Studio G
Both spaces alternatively, applying one out of both
Both spaces: applying for one exhibition in both Gallery G and Studio G spaces

Exhibition Committee has granted one exhibition time for both Gallery G and Studio G simultaneously to one artist for the years 2026-27. The space suggested for the applicant is decided by Exhibition Committee based on applications, and the requests for appointed times or spaces for the exhibition will be taken into consideration as best as possible. Due to the great number of applications received, this will not be possible in all cases.

When processing applications for Gallery G, the Exhibition Committee applies the principal of minimum five years time in between exhibitions for the same artist, when admitting personal exhibitions. For Studio G, the same artist can have a new exhibition at earliest three years since the last personal exhibition. If the applicant has had an exhibition in Gallery G, and is willing to apply for Studio G, the rule of three years in between the exhibitions will be applied.

Submission of applications

All  applications must be submitted electronically via online form in our webpage by due date. We do not accept applications via email or mail.

The application must include pdf-file covering an informal application text, and 5-10 pictures from the artwoks, at least one ofe them preferably being from the artworks installed in a space. All photos must be named properly mentioning:
the name of the artwork
the year
technique
measurements of the artwork
If the applicant wishes to apply with a video, a link to can be added to the pdf instead oh pictures. All other additional information needs to  be included in the pdf as well (the pdf must be  under 6 Mt).

The whole pdf-file must be named: your-last-name-your-first-name-application

The application must  also include an up-to-date cv
pdf, doc, docx or rtf. The file must be under 2 Mt.

The applicants will be informed of the decisions of Exhibition Committee via email.

Exhibition fee and sales commission

The Association of Finnish Printmakers is committed to promoting good exhibition practices. In 2026, exhibitions will be free for artists. In addition, artists will be paid an exhibition fee through an exhibition fee grant from the Finnish Museums Association.

The commission on sales of exhibitions is 35 %.

Gallery G exhibition space

Gallery G has an exhibition space of approximately 70 square meters. The hanging walls are 31 linear meters long and the height is approximately 3 m. The exhibition space consists of two separate rooms. The space will be lit by natural light and the windows will face east and north.

Studio G – exhibition space

The space contains four walls, which are all suitable for installing, giving approximately 11.5 linear meters for installing space. The height of the space is approx. 3 m.
